A Hub for Parents of Student-Athletes.
Sports culture is changing at an unbelievable pace that makes it incredibly hard for parents to keep up and stay sane. As a former college and current high school coach I am in the minority of coaches who hold weekly OPEN practice for parents throughout the sport season. Ironically, parents rarely attend because they trust me as the coach…..and their kid doesn't want them there at practice either.
My athletic & therapy office door is OPEN to both players and parents and now I’m opening a door where mutual learning through OPEN communication is shared among a community of fellow sports parents.
Parents don’t always agree with my coaching philosophy nor decisions but the vast majority agree with the idea of mutual learning through OPEN communication.
The " Open" Practice is a hub for Parents of Student-Athletes - A non-judgemental space of OPEN communication and inquiries with mental health, trainers & nutritional professionals, college coaches and athletes, etc. where validation, empathy and accountability is valued and modeled.
